May 3, 2011_Málàtāng_Chinese hot pot

麻辣烫 (Málàtāng) is originated from Sichuan province. It's simply a hot pot, you put the meat and vegetables in a pot of bubbling hot red broth. When Chinese people eat malatang, they usually sit together around a table that has a hot pot installed on it. But in this shop, the laoban helps us to cook. Hmmm......I love malatang!

First, take a basket and put what you want in it. Meatballs, crab stick, egg, beef, mutton, corn, 各种各样 of doufu, green vegetables, cauliflower, cabbage, potato, lotus root, mushroom, you tiao,... Name it, they have everything there!

Rice noodles, instant noodle, vermicelli, doufu, bean sprout, pig's blood.... It usually costs 5 jiao for a portion of vegetables and 1-2 kuai for the meat.

And then, ask the laoban to cook it for you. He can serve 5 people at the same time.

And it's done! U can add soya sauce, chilli, pepper by yourself. Bon appetite!
